Field Work Portfolio

This is a selected field-work portfolio across physical security, doors, low-voltage infrastructure, structured cabling, troubleshooting, installation, and systems integration.

The goal is not a photo dump. Each example is here to show what the work required, what I paid attention to, and why the details matter after installation day.

Client names, addresses, room identifiers, credentials, keying information, network details, and other security-sensitive information are intentionally omitted. The point is the workmanship and problem-solving, not the customer list.

Featured case studies

1. Structured cabling: from rough-in to trim

A cable run becomes useful infrastructure only when pathway, support, future device geometry, labeling, trim, termination, testing, and handoff are treated as one job.

2. Field diagnostics: prove the fault

Troubleshooting is a process of turning a vague symptom into a testable condition, separating the layers, measuring, changing one variable, and proving the repair before the ticket closes.

3. Serviceable by design

Mounting, cable routing, access, strain relief, labeling, enclosure space, and clean interfaces are not cosmetic extras. They decide how expensive the second visit will be.

Clean routing makes future inspection, additions, and diagnosis easier.

4. Door hardware: measure, align, then electrify

Reliable electronic locking starts with a mechanically sound opening. Measurement, fitment, alignment, latch relationship, mounting, and repeatable door operation all belong in the same commissioning process.

Work samples

Low-voltage trim and finish

The finish should look deliberate. Plate fit, alignment, cable preparation, labeling, and cleanup are the visible end of decisions made much earlier.

Device mounting preparation

Backing, level, cable entry, enclosure location, working clearance, and the path into the device are easier to solve before the final hardware is on the wall.

Termination and existing infrastructure

Not every job starts with a clean sheet. Existing cabling has to be identified, understood, repaired, terminated, tested, and ideally left easier to service than it was found.

Experience represented here

  • Access control, locking hardware, doors, and physical-security systems.

  • CCTV and low-voltage infrastructure.

  • Structured cabling, termination, trim, and cable management.

  • Field diagnostics, testing, repair, and commissioning.

  • Device mounting, layout, and serviceability.

  • Network and fibre fundamentals carried forward from earlier telecom and infrastructure work.

What I optimize for

  • Clean work that can be inspected.

  • Faults proven before parts are replaced.

  • Installations that remain serviceable.

  • Testing that reflects the real operating condition.

  • Documentation useful enough to prevent the next person from starting at zero.

This portfolio documents technical experience and selected project work. It is not presented as an offer of independent contracting services.
